This is my third or fourth time reading your line that likens CR to a witless French duelist and have to say I laugh harder each time I see it. When I picture him with a dandified moustache, tunic, and hose I laugh even harder. I’m guessing, too, if my mental image of Cyrano was shaped more by Gerard Depardieu than by Steve Martin, I’d laugh harder still.
With praise inflation the problem it is, I don’t like to toss words like brilliant around lightly. But that post and this site are truly worthy of it.
