Apparently what prompted the brawl was a pitch invasion by a group of Nacional supporters, who managed to steal a flag from a group of Danubio supporters, which led to the scenes depicted above and provided yet one more dish in our decade’s rich banquet of opportunities for the Flash video audience to watch people hit one another with iron bars. No one was reported injured. “Enjoy”.

The really depressing thing is that this is the second video I’ve seen this week in which the corner flag was used as a weapon.
“No…injuries were reported”
Is this some kind of Uruguayan version of omerta? Maybe the corner flags were bendy props and this was just a movie, or a re-enactment or something.
Either that or the quality of iron bars in Uruguay is shockingly sub-par.
