Wow. I imagine that the Vercilli Soccer Express headlines would be something akin to "BLOODBATH".

I don't know how you'd go about it in FM, but I'd seriously consider having a scrub (if you can allow it) Rochambeau one of the offending Roma players in the CL Final just to let them know you're not messing around. Having a Paul Scholes-esque tackling coach on the sidelines is a good option as well.

Just stumbled upon this from another site (can't remember which one..) and I have to say it has inspired me to dust off my Hellas Verona FM09 game once again. I picked them because of Tim Park's excellent book – A Season with Verona.

They start in Serie C1/A and I have taken them into the Serie A (3 straight promotions!) by only spending 7.75M euros. Now I am going to start my 1st season in A.

I have built a similar squad to you, but I am interested in your tactics – I use a variation of the 4-4-2 (it involves a lot of interchanging and such, but I play with a faster, more direct style).

Excellent job on the articles – can't wait for the final!

Oh, and by the way, Roma's winning penalty was scored by Ander Irureta, whom we sold to them in January. He's only started five games for them since then, but I'm sure there are still some pundits out there who'll use this as evidence that he was "worth it."
