I knew this was going to happen, of course. On some level, I think we all did. But I never thought it would be the Guardian. Especially not on a day when the Mail has a headline with the unnervingly sane beginning “Don’t write Liverpool off.”
Then again, weren’t the Guardian picking Liverpool to win the title less than three weeks ago? I guess it’s understandable that they’d be sensitive about this…

I have a cringing feeling that this is going to be the instantly cliched reaction, but isn’t he just about ideally adapted not to thrive within the English game?
I think that Rafa Benitez is plugging hisnose and popping his ears in that picture. The pressure must be getting to him

had high hopes for babel the last couple of seasons, but i think its time to give him the boot. robben would fit in nicely in that slot.
Except that Robben has signed for Bayern.
