One of the main let downs from this year's prem was all of the unfulfilled promise after the first half of the season. If Hull could have continued their run, if Liverpool wouldn't have flopped in December and January, it would have been much more interesting. The fact that none of this came to fruition made it seem even more hopeless and repetitive.

But this season had the Rafa Rant, that was fun!

Barcelona are beautiful, worthy winners. If only they were made to actually put in a fight before being crowned European Champions. Never mind, try again next year.

In any league when one team wins it all three years in a row, the storylines start to get repetitive. I think if Brown and Rafael could have stayed healthy, United could have been the same attacking talent as yesteryear, but with Neville and O'Shea out wide, not much offense can be generated

Add Serie A's inability to generate interest even in its own fade away.

Gareth Barry has just done a Woody Allen; abandoning his beautiful, long term partner in a baffling switch involving a less prestigious model. The only possible advantage in doing so being numerical, sordid and frankly creepy.

Next year will be better, Chelsea and Arsenal will have to step it up and improve their squads, it'll be interesting to see who Liverpool buy and how Man Utd respond to that soul destroying defeat. There is also the ominous threat of so many aggressive, meglomaniacal billionaires fighting for artificial glory and I sincerely hope that they end up flaying themselves on the jutting snags of their own ridiculous egos. Portsmouth, Man City, Spurs, Villa and Sunderland; they can't all buy instant success. Good on you Roy Hodgson, it's not just about money! Come on Burnley, and anyone but Man Utd!

Very well done.

Even as a Barca fan i'd say that this team is still not on the same level as the Dream Team or any of the other super-teams. It takes consistency to be at that level, and only one season has gone by (and a treble, a huge accomplishment, yes).

If you look at the double-winning side that conquered the CL in 2006, and then collapsed the following season, you will see what I mean.

They're already in the record books, but not as legends. There's still a lot of work to do.
