Pro Vercelli: The Europa League Semifinal, First Leg

Our fifth match of the year against Juventus fell on a cool night in early May, when the semifinals of the Europa League came to the Silvio Piola for the first and last time in its history. The crowd was nervous. Playing with a semi-fit Ibrahimovic (who was recovering from a bruised rib sustained in our last match against Juventus, all of eight days ago), and without the Ferj (who was ineligible for the Europa League), our defense looked sure to struggle, and the question was whether our attack would be sharp enough to help us take advantage of playing the first leg at home…
