I sometimes question whether or not I would actually like FSC as much if it weren't kind of hokey. The low production value has it's strange charm and with sleekness comes douchebags (see the aforementioned ESPN family of networks). I've often listened to Christian Miles or Bretos drone on and on about some inane point and thought, well they're not perfect but at least they're ours.

Good news in my opinion. It all comes down to the matches. If I can see more soccer, who cares about the announcers. In all truth, I watched most of the 06 World Cup matches on mute, or on the Spanish Channel, to get away from the announcers...so i would think real fans can get beyond who is calling the game, if worst came to worst.

There is very little to whine about here... I like FSC and their whole game really; it can be corny at times, but i look at it as a sign of a close knit soccer community.

More games = good move. (p.s. calm down queensnake...i thought the commentary from Sandy UT was pretty decent; the powers that be are definitely showing signs that a good commentary lets the play "breathe")

We should be championing more games, and focusing less on commentators

Those three yahoos -- and especially Kyle Martino -- never SHUT UP!!!

Sat in on media conference call? How did you manage that?

Sorry, I should have clarified that. Please add "Because I am famous and a shaper of global opinion," to the start of the first sentence of the post.

I agree about the repeat broadcasts. Especially since FSC will re-run a lot of the games in primetime, something ESPN wasn't exactly clamoring to do.

Btw, another advantage to Fox -- besides not being pre-empted for three year old Little League home run hitting contests (yes, this once happened on Every Stinking Pitch Network) -- is that they re-run matches. A lot. Sometimes way too much. (Japan-Bahrain, anyone?) But ... at least that means you will have the *opportunity* to see the match, and be excited by it, should you have managed to avoid coverage thereof ...
