Sepp Blatter in Tokyo today on the possibility of moving the World Cup:

There is no Plan B, C or D — for those who still have doubts, I tell you the 2010 World Cup will be organised in South Africa.

Sepp Blatter in June on the same question:

I would be a very negligent president if I hadn’t put away in a drawer somewhere a Plan B.

Since all that’s happened between June and now is that South Africa has fallen further behind in its preparations and increased the burden on its citizens to pay for them, are we safe in concluding that Sepp Blatter Present is launching an attack on the leadership of Sepp Blatter Past? He’s done stranger things, I guess.
