The Run of Play is a blog about
the wonder and terror of soccer.

We left the window open during a match in October 2007 and a strange wind blew into the room.

Now we walk the forgotten byways of football with a lonely tread, searching for the beautiful, the bewildering, the haunting, and the absurd.

If You Are Having Trouble Seeing The Run of Play in Your Web Browser

Then this message probably won’t reach you, but hey, any excuse to break out the “catastrophic technical failure” tag. Here’s what’s happening.

Apparently my web host decided to make some changes late last night without warning anyone, and this morning many people (including me) found themselves unable to access the site. The fix, briefly: you need to clear your web cache and possibly your cookies. Then close and restart your browser. Then point it back to runofplay.com, which should, with any luck, exist.

If you can’t get this to work, or don’t know how to follow these instructions, email me for help. The problem should clear up in time without your intervention, so if this seems like too much work, and you can stand the thought of being cut off from the site for a few hours or days, that’s fine, too. It’s your life.

UPDATE: It’s possible that comments still won’t work even if you follow these instructions. I am working on the problem.

UPDATE II: Commenting should be fixed. Let me know if you run into any problems.
