Nice work, Steve. Quayle/covey is great. Lots of suggestive limerick possibilities here—trail in (as in polls), pale in (as in “comparisons that she would”), nail in (as in coffin), Braille in (as in “not enough light to read”), bake sale in, Yale in (as in “a mindset you can’t go to”), maybe a mispronounced attempt to characterize an opponent as Stalin, etc.

It takes real talent to lampoon something that already borders on the absurd. (For instance, imagine the challenge of spoofing professional wrestling.) But Tina Fey somehow managed. Now you have, too, Brian. Nicely done.

My own offering uses a hackneyed template, but one a regular Joe at a kitchen table on Main Street might use after a six-pack.

I've put up enough videos for one day, but here's a link to the Barcelona-Atletico highlights for anyone who hasn't seen it. Well worth a look if you'd like to be reminded of how you wish your own club played. Whoever picked the soundtrack, however, deserves chastisement.

Barcelona just destroyed Atletico 6-1 in a match whose best moments were two stunning Messi near-misses and a crazy sequence in which it appeared that the referee had shown two yellow cards to an Atletico player without sending him off. Henry, Messi and Eto’o all scored great goals.

How far back does this set the Kun Aguero, Star of Tomorrow movement? More importantly, how long will it be before Ray Hudson is out of the hospital? You could hear something crack inside him at the moment he volunteered, as if compelled by a greater force, the opinion that Messi is better than Riquelme (!!!!).
