By the way, I did an interview with du Nord today as part of a series on “distinctive voices in soccer blogging,” conducted by someone who is himself a distinctive voice in soccer blogging, Zach Dundas of Eleven Devils. It contains probably the least dishonest account of what I’m trying to do around here that I’ve managed to produce so far, so if you’re curious about that sort of thing, by all means check it out. There’s a great interview with Vanda from SpanglyPrincess as well.

Excellent interview, Brian.
As is Vanda’s, not surprisingly.
And Mr. Dundas would appear to be a talented young man; my Google Reader just got another entry.
I can’t recommend Eleven Devils highly enough—it’s smart and really well-written, and anyone who isn’t already reading it should definitely check it out. It’s the rare blog that makes you want to read through the whole archive, because the posts are so entertaining that you don’t care if they’re current or not. Great stuff.
Bloggers interviewing other bloggers on their blogs about their blogs.
Hello future! Come give me a big kiss!
Richard, it’s even better, because Zach did the interview as a guest-blogger for du Nord. So we actually have bloggers interviewing other bloggers about their blogs on other people’s blogs. Bring in Tom Waits and a gloomy soundtrack of obscure Japanese hard bop and you’ve got a pretty good Jim Jarmusch movie going.
Shucks, everyone. Listen, XIDevils is the very definition of a shambling and inconsistent blog effort, so don’t get yr hopes up. It’s a full time job just dealing with the blog groupies—Brian, you know what I’m talking about. With their money. And their incessant demands to PARTY. Who has time to post?
Oh, all this self-deprecatory back-slapping…it’s like the Oscars in here. Only better dressed.
I felt like such a fangirl, reading and loving practically every word of that interview – and then I realised, it’s what I am. You *are* more fun to read than Andrea Pirlo.
[And thank you for the mention! It never gets old, this being-appreciated-by-writers-you-like thing.]
Roswitha, when I read a comment like that, I know exactly what you mean.
