Wow, what I don't know about the Parthians is really coming back to haunt my ability to portray Adebayor.

I'm definitely seeing Bendtner as the doomed Star Trek engineer, though. I just can't figure out if he's flying out an airlock or if radiation is flooding a chamber, causing him to be sealed inside. Either way, it should serve as a catalyst for Adebayor to score two goals against Everton.

My God.

Details of two of my favourite paintings in the entire world.

And in a post about the Gooners. What an aesthetic contradiction . . .

Brian, assembling all three pieces of the Battle of San Romano is essential to predicting the outcome of Fiorentina's tussle with Everton in the last 16 of the UEFA Cup.

perhaps for Adebayor you could find a depiction of some semi-crazed ancient eastern potentate who launched a brilliant, ferocious but ultimately doomed assault on the might of Imperial Rome (Manchester United)?

Do you think maybe Bendtner could end up as the unfortunate assistant engineer? That whole Adebayor thing must have at best affected his confidence, at worst made him unpopular in the dressing room.

I think we all live in fear for Bendtner. A few minutes after he came on there was a ball played to the far post and a flying Dane swooped in front of Adebayor for a chance at the ball. (At least that's how it appeared from my seat on the sofa with eyes darting laptop-to-screen.) Ball was high, making the swoop moot, but I sat waiting for the ominous thunderclouds to surround the Emirates and Manu to morph into a towering, diabolical beast before my averted eyes. Imagine how Nick must feel.
